The Strategic Mile Podcast is a value-added service that provides interviews of highly successful strategic thinkers and leaders. Like successful investing, every major accomplishment that one achieves in life rises and falls on strategic thinking, leadership, risk taking, patience, deliberate action, discipline, and overcoming adversity. Our interviews are with people who have achieved tremendous success in life by following the same principles that successful investors follow. We will interview business leaders, clergy, members of elite military units, entrepreneurs, money managers, mutual fund managers, financial planners, physicians, and more.
ABOUT MATT FALVEY- Host and Author of The Strategic Mile
Matt is a forward looking, strategic thinker, who serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Rich Investments, Inc., an independent, family-owned investment management firm (www.richinvest.com). Utilizing a proprietary, quantitative, computer -driven model, Matt equips his investors to navigate the ever changing landscape of the stock market by using strategic thinking, momentum, and non-directional strategies to exploit trends in both good and bad stock markets. Hence, the Rich Investment’s tagline, “Strategically Managing the Environment of Change.”
Throughout life, Matt has always been interested in how strategy and leadership play a role in successful living. While attending Mount Saint Mary’s College (now University) in Emmitsburg, MD, Matt enrolled in the Army ROTC program and quickly excelled, earning an ROTC scholarship. Upon graduation, he spent four years leading paratroopers in America’s Guard of Honor, The 82D Airborne Division. The experience of serving in one of the premier units in the United States Army enabled Matt to experience (firsthand) the importance leadership and strategic thinking.
After leaving the Army, Matt spent several years working for two of the most elite pharmaceutical companies (at the time)…Pfizer and Schering Plough. By combining leadership skills with strategic thinking and planning, he moved one territory from dead last (75th out of 75) into a top 10, Circle of Excellence position, and was awarded Rookie of the Year and President’s Club for his performance in another territory.
Matt currently makes his home in York, PA with his wife and three kids. His interests include enjoying family and friends, cheering for his kids in their sports, the Roman Catholic Church/Faith, and studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the current rank of Blue Belt.
